For all PreK through Sophomores in High School.  Wrestlers should get three matches.  To register click on this link to the PG FLYER to find out the details and then you can go to www.trackwrestling.com to register for the tournament.  You will enter your own weight during the registration process.  Please be honest.  If you need to check your weight, I will have scales available at Memorial Hall today.   Register under Champions Wrestling Club.

Some important changes this week and next:

1.  Practice normal today.  EXTRA PRACTICE TOMORROW (WEDNESDAY) from 6:30 to 8:30 at MMHS.  Thursday practice CHANGED TO THE EVENING!!  Thursday 6:30 to 8:30 PM – so don’t show up at 4:00.  Thursday night will also feature guest coaches.  Weigh ins for this weekend will be Thursday night.

2.  This weekend the tournaments are at Bingham and Bear River High Schools.  Our club will be attending Bingham High School because it is closer.  Coaches will be present this weekend but I will be on a scout trip. Remember that registration closes at 4:00 on Thursday.  Please make sure to get registered on time so you don’t have to pay a late fee of $20.00.  Please go to the www.wrestleutah.com site for current flyers and information on tournaments.

3.  Greco state is changed to Mountain View High School the following week.  This is in Orem and will save us all a lot of money in travel.  There is a freestyle tournament on Friday night also at MVHS and only Greco on Saturday.  This is a team scoring event and I encourage our entire team to register.

4.  I am very proud of how everyone is doing.  I am pleased that so many wrestlers are competing on the weekends.  Thanks to everyone for your support.

5.  Remember that the NCAA tournament is this weekend-17th-19th.  Tune in on the web or on TV to get live coverage.  We have three UVU wrestlers competing and 11 Utah kids who are from Utah in this tournament.  It is one of the best showings from Utah ever.  Many are ranked.  This is a glimpse into the future.  Part of our goals for our club is to prepare wrestlers to wrestle at the next level.  This will be many of your sons in a few years.

Two announcements.  First the tournament this weekend is at Wasatch.  It should be a good one.  This year we have more kids coming to practice than we have had for a few seasons, but the competition at tournaments have been down.  I hope to see you all this weekend.  The flyer and registration information is here. Also VERY IMPORTANT to note that REGISTRATION ENDS each week on THURSDAY AT 4:00 PM.  So its closed by the time you get to practice.  Don’t wait until Thursday to get your reminder about registration.

Second, Greco State is in St. George this year.  We have 10 rooms reserved.  I hope to have more families go than 10 and we will try to get more if we see the need.
