1) Practice tomorrow is moved to Lehi High School Wrestling room. 4:30 to 6:00 Live matches. 6:00 to 7:00 Live officials rules clinic for all athletes coaches and officials that want to be trained in the new rules! These will be the rules used in all future events including west regional, duals, and national age group championships. So nothing on this Thursday the 16th of may in Mapleton. Only in Lehi!

2) If you want to stay in the same Hotel as the club, you need to RSVP to Diane at dianelamont1@yahoo.com before Sunday to reserve your rooms for West Regional in Pocatello. Also, get registered for this tournament and kids nationals on-line ASAP!

3) Next week is the last week of organized club-wide practice. Tuesday and Wednesday only next week. 6:30 to 7:50. Those interested in scheduling private sessions or small group drilling sessions should contact Coach LaMont via email.

My last post had the schedule but many didn’t read down far enough. May practice dates. Every Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday evening from 6:30 until 7:50 PM ending on Wednesday May 22nd. (Yes, practice tonight). All ages.

All ages now practice together. All practices at Mapleton Jr. All practice times are 6:30 to 7:50. Wed 1, Thu 2, Tue 7, Wed 8, Thu 9, Tue 14, Wed 15, Thu 16, Tue 14, Wed 15, Thu 16, Tue 21, Wed 22 So basically we will go three days a week except this week

Congratulations STATE CHAMPIONS! This year’s state scores were one of our best performances. Our club won both Greco Roman and Freestyle state championships and both tournaments were total domination. Almost a 200 point lead in both styles. Much appreciation to athletes, parents and coaches for their time and dedication.

State this week!

The state tournament is this weekend: 1) We want a team championship again. Coach LaMont wants GOLD! The state tournament is won by two things: Our stars winning the big weights and our numbers showing up in force. I want the whole team there! Register on www.trackwrestling.com. 2) If you are a Intermediate, Novice or Schoolboy and want to go to West Regionals in Pocatello or Nationals in Orem, you MUST wrestle at state this weekend. 3) If you want to make the SB, Cadet, or Jr. National Duals teams or qualify for Fargo in July, you must wrestle at state. State is at the Legacy Events Center in Davis County. Greco on Friday. Freestyle on Saturday. See the flyer at www.wrestleutah.com.

Justin Ruiz Clinic This Tuesday!

Justin Ruiz, World Medalist and team member who is now coaching at UVU has agreed to do a free clinic for our club this Tuesday the 23rd. All Club, JH, and HS athletes are welcome. All ages. Location is Mapleton Jr. High. 5:15 to 7:45. Don’t miss this event!

Spring Break Practice Schedule and Weight ins

Spring break starts this week (April 1-6).

All Club members will practice together at the same time (no divider for little ones). Three practices.

Tuesday from 5:15 to 6:45 PM

Wednesday from 5:15 to 6:45 PM

Thursday from 8:00 to 9:30 AM

Also all April tournaments are now line brackets with actual weights. Weights for non-high school kids are typically every five pounds. Regular weights for high school ages. This weekend (April 5,6) at West High School. Find registration on Track under Utah United.

OFFICIALS CLINIC

I will be holding an officials training Friday (tomorrow) the 22nd at 5:30 PM at the Junior High. All parents and athletes Schoolboy age and above who want to earn officiating rebates this season should attend. 5:30 to 6:30. Also the High School Super State tournament is this Saturday.
